"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it.
Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?" -Dries Van Noten
When it comes to the Canadian fashion game, Bernadette Morra is at the height of her career. For starters, she's geared FASHION Magazine, Canada's #1 fashion and beauty publication in a unique and innovative direction, after joining the team as the Acting Editor in Chief in August 2009. Fast forward a year later, and her temporary gig became concrete - holding the title as Editor in Chief since July 2010. But behind the glossy pages sits a woman whose well-tuned voice and tone is a staple of Canadian style. Since the 1980's, where she began her journalistic career, she contributed to The Canadian Press, The Toronto Star, and Flare Magazine, landing her gig at The Toronto Star in 1998 as in-house fashion writer, and eventually climbed the ranks to tackle the role of Fashion Editor for the newspaper for 15+ years. She's interviewed everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Nicolas Ghesquière, and while the subjects and styles seem to change and the latest collections are unveiled, Morra's deep understanding of personalized style has one common thread - style can't be acquired through study. In fact, true style is innate, embedded within a person's DNA. And most importantly, it's a defining trademark...as individual as a fingerprint.
