"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it.
Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?" -Dries Van Noten

Logan Horne

Stylist. New York

From a small beach town in North Florida working in a flower nursery to eventually becoming the sartorial voice behind some of today’s most glamorous ladies, Logan Horne’s closet was definitely a jaw dropping experience for us. While he may be responsible for making sure Leighton Meester, Jessica Stam, and Karolina Kurkova look on-point at all times, any dude looking for a free style tip should look no further than this bi-coastal stylists East Coast’s abode. For Horne, it’s all about the accessories, from his Goyard hand-painted briefcase to his black and white Chanel Rugby ball (naturally a necessity for any fashion-conscious guy); his anecdotes are complimented gracefully with his array of Balmain tops and tees. But good taste, while innate, definitely doesn’t land you at the top of your game instantly, and for Horne, he mastered his craft from a young age. He worked at the old Miu Miu store on Melrose when he was 18 and eventually went on to assist Kelly Cutrone and Tara Subkoff (not to mention working in house for Nina Ricci while Olivier Theyskens was still the creative director), but it was then that he offered some assistance to his good friend Ms. Meester. It was soon evident that everyone was taking notice of Leighton’s style. She’s been on countless best dressed lists and continues to inspire The Coveteur, so when we were able to spend a day with the guy who ensures she looks red carpet ready, we naturally picked up a few tips of our own. From his closet to yours, Mr. Logan Horne ladies and gentlemen...

I saw this Chanel rugby ball at a trunk show Maxfield (my favorite shop in LA) was having for the brand in 2007. They told me they would only be receiving two of them and one was already on reserve so I put my name down for the other. I just thought it was too ironic...I have never played a day of rugby in my life. Months passed and I never got a call about it until Valentine's day when my mom gave it to me as a present after having secretly called my sales girl and convinced her to sell it to her instead!

I went through this phase of wearing scarves tied around my head when I had long crazy hair and lived in California...my little cousin used to actually tell his classmates he had a pirate for a cousin! I became obsessed with these scarves when I lived down the block from Maxfield. They would literally get in a new style every other week and I would be there first thing to get the best choice of color. My favorite one has to be the red kama sutra one that is covered in cigarette holes.Scarfs, all by Alexander McQueen

On one of these humorous occasions I came across this studded ashtray and nearly did a back flip. It is a prototype and I don’t believe was ever put into production. The Louis Vuitton monogramouflage mouse pad came in limited copies of Numéro Tokyo when they launched the collection.Ashtray, Dana Lorenz for Fenton/Fallon; Mouse Pad, Louis Vuitton
