Fashion Enthusiast and Mini Style Star. Los Angeles
After a long day of shooting, it was a treat to be greeted by a pair of familiar faces for our final Coveteur shoot of the day. It was almost 7 p.m., and way past her bedtime.
“So, you want to see her closet?” her mom asked.
She opened the door revealing a perfectly organized closet with a sea of CHANEL and array of pieces that easily rivaled the children's section at Barneys. We began picking up the pint-size shoes, which barely fit inside the palms of our hands. We looked down to see two-and-a-half-year-old Alaia Rose Barbier – her head barely reaching our knees – offering us a porcelain plate of colored macarons.
Alaia's wardrobe was already well stocked with stylish signatures: leopard print everything, big floppy hats, tiny leather bombers, and leather-and-pony-haired loafers in every hue imaginable. Not to mention a CHANEL backpack from her grandma.
“This is one backpack she will not be carrying to pre-school,” Rose told us.
We weren’t surprised to discover that Monica (most notably the stylist to the Kardashians) had taken to dressing her daughter as if she were one of her clients. And if you follow her Instagram as religiously as we do, you’d know Alaia has quickly become an insta-sensation with her Céline totes and all.
“Alaia picks out what she wears; she is very opinionated.”
Although Monica had rushed home after styling Khloe for a taping of The X-Factor, she’d set up a tea party in Alaia's Robin Walker custom-designed bedroom for us —complete with a three-tiered dessert stand piled high with macarons and white/milk chocolate letters. While we got busy browsing and styling, Alaia played the perfect tea party hostess by graciously pouring “milk” into each of our saucers and grabbing sweet after sweet after sweet… for herself. Before we knew it, she was jumping in her crib and playing in her magical Dexton Teepee decorated with Oscar de la Renta silk for the stars.
We doubt even Goodnight Moon or Dr. Seuss could’ve calmed the sugar-overdose that we gave her that night –sorry, Monica! All in the name of Coveteuring, right?
Alaia picked out what she wears; she is very opinionated. Favorite stores: Zara.com, babygap.com, and eggy on 3rd St. in Los Angeles. Style inspiration/icon: her mommy, of course! Her style is girly with a hint of tomboy. She loves tees, hats, leather leggings, sneakers, and her rainboots. She loves anything easy and comfortable.

Alaia's favorite books are Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? and Hop on Pop by Dr. Dr. Seuss. I have to read those three books every night before bed. -Monica Rose
Alaia is obsessed with her play food and play kitchen stove. She loves to play cook for me and her daddy. Her favorite foods are broccoli, chicken, brown rice, and all fruits. I'm lucky; she loves heathy food. -Monica Rose
The teepee is by Dexton. Robin, who designed Alaia's room, ordered it for me. I love the dreamy pillows she made out of waxed linen for the clouds and she used an Oscar de la Renta silk for the stars. She added butterflies, along with a fox fur tail, which completed the magical look! It's Alaia's hide-out when she plays with her baby dolls. -Monica Rose
She got this backpack six months ago. She will probably appreciate it in another year. This is one backpack she will not be carrying to pre-school. -Monica Rose

I splurged and got this for Alaia. It was too cute to pass up. She can wear it with anything. I think this will be so cute worn a with a floral dress and a denim jacket for spring, or her leopard peacoat with her leather leggings for winter. It’s so versatile. I'm not going to lie, I borrow this bag all the time! -Monica Rose
Right now Alaia is obsessed with anything leopard; the cape was a total hit on Instagram. She wore it a lot in the summer with her denim cut-offs. She loves to go shopping with me when I'm working. She helps me pick things out and loves to try high heels on. She likes to be my little helper. She is not into shopping with me when I shop for her yet, but she will one day. -Monica Rose
The matching outfit is from H&M's collaboration with UNICEF. She hasn't worn it yet; we are saving it for a special occasion. Alaia's room is her BIG girl room. I called my good friend Robin at Spurce and Dandy (she specializes in designing kids' rooms) to help collaborate with me on Alaia's new room. We wanted it to be a room that reflected Alaia's adventourous and playful side, but make it chic and sweet for Alaia. We layered a Brazilian cream and gold hide with a classic miniature table and chairs perfect for Alaia to have tea parties, play games, and make art on. The key was to keep it cozy, playful, and opulent for her to grow with. -Monica Rose

Alaia is really into her SLBarbier fedora hat her daddy custom-made for her. She loves her H&M rainboots, and her leopard peacoat from babyGAP. It all depends on her mood. Sometimes she will give me a major fashion show, but it is usually when I am working. I think she knows how to get my attention while I am in the office... -Monica Rose
