“I think my closet is a reflection of the Whitney Eve girl: very colorful, print-heavy, eclectic, and most of all, comfortable," Whitney Port told us. We popped by Port’s beach-side pad just in time for breakfast, where she had a serious spread waiting for us. We’ve been big supporters of Port since her T.V. days of The Hills and The City. and throughout the continued success of her ever-expanding line, Whitney Eve. Port’s walk-in was bursting with color, prints and whimsical charm—and she’s got the organization thing down to a science.
While we were busy browsing her wardrobe and admiring the boho-like décor, Port had her glam squad add the finishing touches to her hair and make-up. After she was dolled up, we dressed her up in a slew of ensembles: Giuseppe Zanotti sparkly heels, a drapy Thakoon dress—and we even got her into her sweats and fuzzy slippers.
Port spilled a ton of stuff: her favorite flea markets, her knack for making a killer cheese plate, her go-to destinations for interiors, and her love for high/low mixing. We adore a girl with a sea of expensive stilettos, but we really love a girl who adds a pair from Zara, Topshop and Urban Outfitters into the mix. And stay tuned for accessories of Port’s own design, “my dream is to dress a girl from head to toe, so accessories are my next step.”
The red set of pillows is also from H.D. Buttercup. Just like mixing prints in my wardrobe, I love to do the same with my interior design aesthetic. I love a red lip and red accents.

I have always had a huge affinity towards Dr. Martens. They are just a funky and classic way to tie up an outfit. My pillows are all from H.D. Buttercup, one of my favorite interior design stores in L.A.
When you look at all of my furniture separately, you think to yourself, How could this all possibly look good together? To me, it just does! I love the randomness of it all. When I moved into this house, I had a little bit more space to work with and needed a few new pieces. My mom turned me onto Wertz Brothers in Santa Monica. A bit overwhelming—some of the furniture is stacked up 20 feet—but there are some great finds in there.

Shoes and bags are always the best things to buy at Zara; I have started quite the collection. Over the years I have built up this shoe collection. Some of my favorite stores to shoe shop at are Elyse Walker, Topshop, Zara and Barneys.
The vases are both from an antique store in Missouri. I usually pick up flowers when I go to the market. My sister, Paige, and I will put together arrangements for all the rooms.
I am always very attracted to floral prints and polka dots. I have gone to such places like Shareen Vintage, Wasteland, and Scout for various textile inspirations for my clothing line.
Some of my favorite shoe brands right now on the more expensive side would be Valentino, Alexander Wang, and Giuseppe Zanotti. For less expensive shoes I love Converse, Vans and Dr. Martens. I feel like I originally fell in love with Dr. Martens when Cher dressed up Tai in those silver ones in the makeover scene in Clueless.
My shoe collection didn’t always look like this. My grandmother, an avid antique collector, started a miniature glass shoe collection for me. To this day, those glass shoes still sit on the shelves in my childhood bedroom. That may have been the spark for my love of shoes. I hold on to my shoes for as long as I can because I feel like even though I may not wear them in the near future, hopefully my daughter will!
When I design I am constantly thinking about what I am missing in my closet. When I get ready in the morning, I take mental notes of items I feel I need to complete my look. I think my closet is a reflection of the Whitney Eve girl: very colorful, print-heavy, eclectic, and most of all, comfortable.
I do love a hint of metallic, and I think metallic shoes are a perfect way to incorporate the look into any outfit. Eventually, I would love to do a footwear line; my dream is to dress a girl from head to toe.
