This clutch belongs to my little sister, Annabelle. She left it here, and I think it looks quite nice on my shelf. It’s a vintage book jacket for A Streetcar Named Desire. Prints are a big part of my design aesthetic, and a great floral will add that feminine and flirty quality that I’m always drawn to. They balance an otherwise edgy look. I’ve never worn this dress, but it looks like a decorative piece in itself. My mother goes through her closet from time to time and gives away pieces she no longer wears. She’s given me a few great vintage dresses that I really love. Dress, Vintage

The shirt is from my Spring ’11 collection, paired with a necklace that was a gift from my mother’s trip to India. It’s a great piece to dress-up a T-shirt, or add a bit of glamour to a casual look. I love exploring different eras when I design. Grunge has really become a singular influence, and I like exploring the nuances of the era. The Spring ‘12 collection is a modern take on the 20’s Victorian era. The demure details and soft color palettes are offset by denim and patchwork elements from the restless grunge decade.
