The bulk of people I look to for inspiration are male musicians. They have that effortless look that is total perfection to me. My biggest style icons would have to be Billy Gibbons, Bryan Jones and Robert Plant. I have been using the same skincare lines for years. Yon-Ka and Guinot make the best face masks in the universe, which is essential because I travel so much. I use Mustela lip and cheek balm. It’s actually meant for infants but it smells like a dream and looks like baby deodorant.

These pants are absolutely wild. They can be spotted from a mile away which can be a blessing and a curse, but they are handy when someone’s trying to track me down at the airport. I like to play a bit of everything. Mainly I play guitar, banjo and ukulele, with occasional dulcimer, piano, chord organ, tambourine, and of course, the kazoo. Pants, Mother Denim

I live for sheer antique floaty dresses. My closet is stuffed with them and I collect vintage pieces wherever I go. They are perfect in the summer with little shorts underneath. I found the mirror years ago in a furniture store in England and waited months for it to escape the grasp of the customs agents. Dresses, Vintage

Curtis is one of my favourite people. He made this for me in his studio on one of the hottest days ever. I was obsessed with the dye pattern of a larger canvas so he ripped it off and painted on it for me. I am a whiskey drinker through and through: Jameson for mellow nights in the canyon and Fireball when I feel like gettin’ real trashy.

My style is a complete mix of vintage bohème and modern pieces. I think mixing the two helps to avoid looking too costume-y. Nothing highlights an incredible antique coat like a simple pair of pants and a T-shirt. Boots, Isabel Marant

I started Littledoe in 2008 on a total whim. It has been an incredibly strange and magical journey that I hope to continue for years to come. The inspiration for my work always comes back to the ladies of the canyon…the image of a beautiful barefooted young lass wandering up and down the boulevard in a tattered gown with flowers in her hair. I found the goat head at the back of a flea market in LA and carted it around in 90-degree weather until I could make it to my car. That thing has been back and forth between New York and LA almost as much as I have. My mantle is scattered with loads of little treasures from my life: candles burnt to the heart, heaps of raw crystals, an owl hairspray cover from the ’60s, but my favourite is a little glass bottle with handmade angel wings in it that was given to me as a gift a few years back. This photo came to me as a total fluke. I had spent months and months picking out one piece of art from Henry Diltz’s archive and finally settled on a photo of Neil. When it arrived at my house after weeks of anticipation, they had printed and framed the wrong photo but I didn’t have the heart to tell them. I gave it a chance and totally fell in love with the photo; I guess we were meant to be. I bought these boots in New York about five years ago. They were a special treat after my first big sale with Littledoe. They have been totally beat to shreds and all my friends have attempted to steal them, but they are such a good throw-on boot. I found these lips in a junk store up the street from my apartment in New York. They are paper-mache and reminded me of childhood art classes so I had to drag them home with me. Dress, Isabel Marant

This dress was made by some beautiful California ladies that I know who run a line called Stone Cold Fox. I just got back from the Oregon Country Fair where, no matter how wildly I seem to dress, I always end up feeling like a total square. My friends and I built the tepee and painted it. We had absolutely no idea what we were doing but it has been the perfect addition to my life. It’s like a weird little sanctuary filled with cushy pillows and spider webs. I honestly don’t know what lives in there. This dress is so tattered and shredded that it looks like I was attacked by a lawn mower while wearing it. But the material is so beautiful that I can’t let go of it. Dress, Vintage

I am writing like a madwoman these days, working on a number of new musical projects. I just finished my first full-length record, so that will be released sometime in the near future. I am quite sure I wore pyjamas to my first 500 concerts (I was an infant), but I remember being about six and taking naps in the bleachers at Pink Floyd rehearsals in a full onesie. I am completely mad for shoes. I have no idea where the addiction stems from, but my tea cupboards are overflowing with them. I usually stick to the same shape, which is a flat pointed ankle boot, usually by Isabel Marant , Chloé, Tabitha Simmons or Giuseppe Zanotti.
