Shoes are one of the loves of my life. The best thing about them is they fit everyone so even when you’re not feeling so hot or your jeans are a little too tight you always have your shoes. My all time favorite since I was a little girl is Manolo Blahnik. He’s such an innovative designer, I cannot get enough of him.
One of the things that drew me to this apartment was the fourteen foot ceiling height! I have my mother’s artwork on nearly every wall; the apartment is practically a small gallery of her work.
I love big statement jewelry but my collection is threatening to take over my dresser. I’ve been trying to keep it as organized as possible in these trays, but I’m definitely growing out of them. I sort everything by type: necklaces in trays, bracelets and rings in separate bowls. My dream is to own an antique map drawer where everything is perfectly sorted and on discrete display.
I obsessed over these shoes. I ordered them early in Italy, stalked headquarters in Milan and had them shipped to New York. Every time I wear them I end up dancing, which is unfortunate for my husband’s toes. They are heavy, but they are my favorite and he is fine with nine toes.
The necklace is from the closing sale of a big wardrobe rental place in New York. It was a huge warehouse in Midtown and they were selling decades worth of collector’s pieces. This turned out to be the only thing I bought. It’s very Miu Miu I think.
[Both of these bags are] from a store in Palm Springs that sells mostly costume jewelry, but also carry’s a small selection of vintage bags. I had fallen in love with both of them and was attempting to pick just one, but my husband encouraged me to get both. The prices are a lot better in the desert, so I was essentially getting two-for-one (had I purchased them in L.A.) –but still, you know you have a keeper when your husband suggests taking them both home.
The process of writing my book was fiercely intimidating since I was still maintaining my blog daily and then had to come up with additional ideas for the book. On top of that, I was planning our wedding; so needless to say, it was a stressful time –but ultimately one of the most rewarding times of my life. I was approached by several publishing houses, but felt that Abrams was the perfect fit. The most rewarding part of the whole experience has been my book tour. I'm constantly interacting with readers online, but getting to meet them in person was really special. I was so touched and humbled by the hundreds of girls that came to each of my signings. I hope to see my site evolve over the next five years with new features, perhaps a couple more books, and I recently signed on with a licensing company to create Cupcakes and Cashmere products.

I got this vintage lace robe from Golyester, a vintage store in Beverly Hills that specializes in vintage from the 1910s to 1960s. They keep the delicate pieces in a special room and I always find something I love there.
