These psychedelic prints really speak for themselves. I love incorporating prints into my wardrobe – especially when they’re as bright and bold as these three.
This mirror dates back to the 18th century and previously belonged to my husband’s British grandparents, Sir Robin and Lady Chapman. The sequin dress is by the talented Proenza Schouler design duo. They happen to be the first designers we secured for the Moda Operandi site.
The mini suitcases were created in collaboration between Liberty of London and Merci in Paris. Our Fashion Director Yasmin Sewell spearheaded the collaboration and I purchased the bags at Merci while I was traveling with her in Paris.

This is my bike, Mahlia. I ride her to work every once in a while, and take her out on weekends for a good time. I got this dress from one of my favorite vintage dealers, Marlene Wetherell Vintage. It’s two sisters who have such great taste. I wore the dress for our New York Fashion Week debut.
This is my favorite rocker tee and I wear it way too often. Jodie once told me I couldn’t wear it for a while because she was sick of seeing me in it. I got it at a vintage show and cut it into a tank. I bought this jacket when I lived in Barcelona from the designer himself. He only ever made one for runway and he said it didn’t fit many people, so I told him I was Cinderella and snatched it. It’s so Almost Famous. These are my favorite shoes. I wear them constantly in the winter.
During the fashion shows, which took place down stairs, Gabrielle Chanel would sit on the staircase. Thanks to the mirrors she could see everything taking place, but no one could see her. She wanted to know the immediate reaction, if the journalists and clients were pleased with the collection.
I collect and arrange books in the spirit of Karl Lagerfeld. Have you ever seen his library?! It’s a book lover's dream-come-true, a wonderland of treasures. I love that Steidl published The Little Black Jacket; they make the most amazing books.
The definition of a classic is something that each person can take and make her own; of course we all know that a CHANEL jacket is the ultimate classic, and now finally there's a tribute in print that looks as great on my coffee table as a CHANEL jacket does on a chic woman. Karl Lagerfeld is obviously my style muse.
The doors are from India. We had them shipped to L.A. The shoes are from a few seasons ago. I once wore them when I was with my dad and he told me he has a pair of shoes at home with paint all over them from painting. I asked him if they were painted by Stefano Pilati. He asked, "who?” and then the conversation was over.
