This hallway didn’t exist in the house when we bought it. I wanted to create a beautiful sightline to the garden and make it feel as though there is like a courtyard in the middle of the house. The sweaters are Loro Piana and Brunello Cucinelli. Both are masters of sophisticated colour. One of my strengths as a designer is being sensitive to the nuances of color; similarly, I’m sensitive to colors in clothing.

The vanity in the bathroom is more like a furniture piece, and I used lamps instead of typical wall lights. The room relates to the rest of the house and it’s really an extension of the design perspective. The blazer is British Glen Check with a twist by Kiton. I wear this in Palm Beach. The belts are made in Paris and I buy them in Palm Beach. They have amazing colors; I have so many.

I love architectural models and this English antique staircase model is part of my collection. Hermès (along with Ferragamo) is my favourite leather company and they excel at discreet and beautiful craftsmanship. The Hermès 'H' belts are classic. Hammered gold, polished silver, brown or black enamel—I love them all. This photo reminded me that I need to send these out to be polished.
