Founder of P.S. - I made this. New York

We thought we were crafty, hands on D.I.Y mavens, until we laid our sights on Erica Domesek, the founder behind P.S. - I Made This... Domesek is a distinguished DIY design and style expert who resides in New York City, and in addition to her killer website, her first book, aptly titled P.S. - I Made This...gives you all the tips you need for creating a fringe scarf out of a tee-shirt or how to get the Burberry studded trench coat look with the help of some gold paint and chopsticks. And that's just the beginning.
A multi-colored Sharpie aficionado (aren't we all), Domesek, a recent "graduate" of Teen Vogue University, let us peek inside her tightly-organized in-home design center. "Nothing makes me HAPPIER than my j’amazing craft closet! It houses all my DIY bits and bobs in the most insanely organized fashion that opens up to 9 feet. P-touch labels make for a quick ID (from spray paint to rhinestones), removable bins for 1,2,3 easy access, every single kind of paint, paper, glue and tape your heart desires!" states Domesek.
She seeks inspiration from everything from nature to Jack and Laz, and at the end of the day, what really gets her going is anything with an equestrian flair. With a quirky sense of humor which seamlessly translates into her creations, we love the "I'm right on top of that, Rose!" quote etched into her gold charm necklace. With her gold dipped tool kit and tools, she's one girl who stands by the motto she created: I see it, I like it, I make it.

P.S. - I made this… ring necklace! One of my favs in my book! PS - I seriously wear it all of the time. Made from loads of fun rings on a rope - anyone can make one! The enamel necklace is made from vintage napkin rings I found upstate in Millbook, NY that are strung on double-faced satin ribbon. It’s very Dries meets Marni.

Necklaces, P.S. - I made this… Shoes, Keds x Opening Ceremony

My heart goes pitter-patter for all things that splatter! Inspired by Alexander McQueen’s Butcher shoes - I P.S.’ed these issuing acrylic paints on Frye oxford shoes. Made from tights and bouncy balls, these quirky and fun necklaces scream to be worn out on the town. Martha Stewart asked me to make versions for her dogs as collars (in her fav color: orange.)

Forever inspired by Jack & Lazaro. It was a time when the world was dying over all things SS10 Proenza, so I thought I’d DIY some DYE. It was my first collab with Hillary & Katherine of WhoWhatWear too!

My book is an extension of myself, psimadethis.com and everything in between - It’s fun to open my DIY doors and welcome everyone to peek and play. It was the most rewarding project I have ever worked on… get involved! The prep patches are super fun! The marquee letters were left over from a shoot. It’s fun to spell things out. My friend Ben Watts left the shoot with letters to spell out his daughter's name “RUBY”.

All systems GO for Equestrian j’amazingness. I fell hard for the triple strap crackle heels for reasons that need no explanation. I tend to stare at them more then I actually wear them, just because they are so darn pretty! I P.S.’ed an H&M trench into a Burberry inspired gold spike look using chopsticks I painted gold. Hanging from the jacket are P.S.’ed Military Earrings and Equestrian brooches using buttons, gems, from cupcake wrappers (both in my book). P.S. - the photo is a Robert Tabor Reprint… he is my hero! #Canyoutellthatimobsessedwithhorses

Skirt, Mother’s Wedding Outfit

There is no dating of this blouse. The classic silk silhouette, the bold colors, it was chic in the 70’s, and remains to this day. My aunt probably paired with a pencil skirt… I opt for a jean or riding pant. #Timeless

Quote etched on necklace from Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead "I’M RIGHT ON TOP OF THAT, ROSE." Classic. That was one of the first movies I recall where I wanted to be that character. Sue-Ellen (Christina Applegate’s character) wanted to work in the fashion industry so bad, she did anything and everything to succeed at an early age. Driven, smart, creative, and cut a few corners, (very DIY-ishy). The “P.S.” duo, ARE doing anything and everything at such a young age. I’m blown away by their talent and am honored to share such initials with them. I bow down to them and all things Proenza Schouler!

Midas touch. P.S. - I made this… gold oxford by spraying, adding chain and brads. A winning pair. The scissors are awesome and I got them from Target (double awesome). I was fortunate enough to DIY hats with Donatella at the Art of Elysium’s Bright Lights event, where I worked with Dasani to create and customize Green Caps. PS - I helped her open her safety pins because her nails were so long. P.S. - I love her… so much.
