I seldom wear costume jewelry but I love looking at it. Something playful about it always puts a smile on my face. When Yiouri Augousti made my dresser, I asked him to make me two drawers as jewelry compartments. They are perfect to keep everything organized and accessible. A shoe collection sort of comes with the territory of my profession. After all, I’ve been in the business since 1995. That is a lot of fashion seasons with a lot of variations. What can I say, I love shoes. I always have. When I was young, I would go to Spain on shoe shopping trips. My mother would constantly remind me that I only have two feet. My sister cared about dolls; I cared about shoes - all kinds, all colors. I select shoes according to my mood, my state of mind or the day’s agenda. This picture is a mix of old and new. The jacket is Gucci from the Tom Ford days, which to this day is my personal favorite time in fashion. From wedding to blue jeans, it goes with everything, every season. The CHANEL bags are from when CHANEL used to have big sample sales. Long, long ago... The lace Charlotte Olympia’s are from Peter Som’s runway show. He's so sweet and gifted them to me after the presentation. This dress was a trade. My friend, Gretchen Gunlocke used to work at CHANEL. She got pregnant with twins and did not fit into this dress that she had ordered. I had just given birth to my second daughter and was sick of my maternity wear, although it was all designer. So we swapped! I sent her my Yves Saint Laurent sheaths and got this dress.
