Fiona Green

Fashion Editor, FLARE Magazine. Toronto

Canadian-born Fiona Green ended up at FLARE Magazine, assisting Fashion Director Elizabeth Cabral after attending Toronto's Ryerson University in both the Fashion Communications program and Photography program. As the Associate Fashion Editor of one of Canada's primary fashion publications, a title she's held for over two years, she has developed her own sense of style with her lust for Balenciaga kicks and silk-screened loose-fitting tops. Her unique put-together aesthetic garnered her the attention of The Toronto Star, who listed her as one of the city's best dressed downtown darlings.

This is an old shotgun cleaning kit case that I bought years ago - but I threw out the cleaning tools and just use it as a pencil case.

I keep all my best pieces in the single-rail closet so that they have the most breathing room. I also have my shoes in this closet, since it is nearest to the door. The second closet is mostly separates. I organize everything by color, which isn't difficult, since it's mostly black or white. Everything is hung on wooden hangers. Super delicate items are kept in my dresser, wrapped in tissue.

I bought these at Spectacle in a slight panic because I was heading to Centre Island for the day and had recently lost my previous pair. In the shot, they're sitting on top of some of my father's travel photos. He is a very talented photographer but these photos are extra special because of the rounded edges and finely-textured paper that they are printed on. I keep meaning to have them scanned and blown up to put on my wall.

These were a birthday gift from myself, to myself. I bought them on Yoox, which is a fantastic resource for high-end items from past seasons. People are always surprised when I tell them that they are Balenciaga.

This top is incredibly special to me. It's by one of my absolute favorite designers, and the illustration was done by a very gifted friend of mine, Meghan Roche. Whenever someone compliments me on the shirt, I brag shamelessly that I know the talented artist who drew it.

For the record, I do not endorse the wearing of jumpsuits, 99% of the time. In almost all instances, they make grown women look like little girls. I thought this particular one however, was a clever take on the tuxedo, and I bought it as an alternative to wearing an evening dress to a formal event.

I bought this jacket from a consignment store, but it still had the original tags on it. Whenever I wear it, I feel like a character from Where the Wild Things Are.

I bought this dress at Holt Renfrew. I think I've only ever worn it to work, it's a tricky piece to wear.

I never, EVER wear these; they are delicate ponyhair, the pitch of the shoe is very steep, and they don't work with the majority of my wardrobe. I'll never get rid of them though, they're like a collector's item to me. I bought them on sale at Barney's.

I remember the day I bought these from Specchio really well - it was scorching hot out. They're a bit of a departure for me, but my boyfriend at the time (who was shopping with me), convinced me to get them. I wore them a lot that summer!
