Gwen’s expertise has been profiled on fashionista.com, beautysnob.com and as a celebrity editor on beautyblitz.com.

My mom was an art director at Vogue when I was growing up. When I visited her at the office I just fell down the rabbit hole and that was that. Big picture: I love being able to help women edit the market and also build this thriving business. The beauty biz as a whole is also extremely philanthropic, something I totally stand behind and love being able to contribute towards. On a day to day basis, it's pretty cool to be the first to be in the know on what lipstick a celeb wore on the red carpet!

I'm loving skincare by La Prairie, SKII and Guerlain right now. I create a big cocktail every morning and evening. I swear by Tracie Martyn body care. It's amazing stuff. For hair, that cleansing conditioner, Wen, is the best for my sensitive scalp. And I love Fekkai's Technician's Mask, it gives my long hair shine and body, a hard combo to come by. More than products are the pros I've been fortunate to work with in my role and now call friends AND support staff members! I couldn't live without my haircutter and colorist, the genius Harry Josh. Facialists Sonya Dakar and Tracie Martyn taught me so much and I'm indebted to Dr. David Colbert who eradicated my basal cell skin cancer sans surgery and introduced me to his magical Triad facial.

My five ultimate beauty secrets and quick fixes? 1) Wear sunscreen. It really will make a difference later on. 2) Sleep with a humidifier, it gives you dewy skin and helps your breathing to boot! 3) Use a cloth mask like SKII's once a week, you won't see your pores anymore. 4) Stop washing your hair more than once a week. 5) Ditch powder and use blotting papers to refresh skin

I'm a heels girl through and through, being 5'2 will do that. I wish I was that girl who looked effortlessly adorable in Converse, but I don't; they make me walk like a duck. Love heels by Louboutin (of course), Brian Atwood, Sergio Rossi. YSL sandals are the most comfortable. And I'm newly obsessed with the Walter Steiger claw heels. I usually wear a platform pump to the office, flat motorcycle boots for errands and anything goes on date night.

I'm a major caffeine addict and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the best brew in NYC is at Marlow & Sons in Williamsburg. Not only is the coffee French press (to die for), the joint is so cute, they sell chic striped tees and the best leather sandals all while playing killer music.

I can't even remember when I got my first CHANEL bag, but there is nothing more collectible or coveted than these purses. They are pretty and functional, and while for every day I really need a bigger bag where I can carry an iPad and shoes, I always go back to these. Choose a favorite? Um, hello, Sophie's Choice! Never.

My natural tendency is to hoard, so I really need a closet with dividers and built in organization then the pendulum swings and I become totally obsessed with keeping the closet perfectly organized. I love looking at my shoes across the top, they just make me happy! I hold on to everything, especially amazing clothes and accessories. I'm quite sentimental and also a little bit superstitious, I could never get rid of something that served me during a particularly great period. My favorite designers are Temperley and Isabel Marant. I mostly shop online. Then there's my major problem, ASOS. I order something almost every week, they make amazing dresses in good colors and shapes for TV, the easiest way to have a wardrobe for segments without spending a fortune.

I usually choose the shoes first, how'd you guess? My favorite shoe moment from TV was when Carrie's shoes got stolen on Sex and the City. I had an incident in LA when I was walking and my flip flop broke. I had to walk about a mile barefoot through West Hollywood. With my girlfriends, somehow this story got intertwined with the Carrie episode, reality got distorted and the mythic story evolved to Gwen's Manolos were stolen off her feet on La Brea.

I do love a pouchette. I usually use them for makeup, but they can so easily transition into an evening purse on the fly. The turquoise minaudiere looks super luxe, but it?s sturdy, so I never worry about sticking it under a table at a big event.

I love scent so much. I usually create my own by mixing a few favorites. For years I blended Kiehl's Musk with Kai, which is gardenia-based. Right now I'm loving By Kilian's Don't Be Shy and Back to Black and also Dior Patchouli Imperial and Oud Ipsahan. Then I touch up throughout the day with Angel. Sounds crazy but people are always asking me what I'm wearing and I think that's because it smells exotic, they've never smelled it before. We all try out products! I learned a long time ago, it's impossible to objectively be my own guinea pig, without getting a rash! For hair, I love Philip B products; the Drop Dead Straightening Balm is awesome, and I love Living Proof's Straight. Couture Colour Pequi Oil is pretty rad too, for smoothing split ends.

These heels are coral suede with the most fabulous heel. I love coffee table books and have collected them forever. I love collections of photography. My mom designed The World in Vogue, I tracked this one down on eBay. I have one with the multi-colored logo book jacket, but this one, the original orange cover with gilded lettering under the jacket, is my fave. This is one of my portraits by Davis Factor. He always makes me look like a better version of myself.

I always pop by the Marant shop with my friend Lisa Walker when she's in town from LA; Lisa peer-pressured me into buying this one and I'm so glad she did! I kind of went all out on these shoes; the claw heel, that shape is not a wallflower, so why get it in basic black? I had to have this summer-perfect pattern. And seriously, these shoes are a feat of architecture; they are surprisingly AND amazingly ridiculously well balanced and comfortable.

I painted this painting, it's acrylic on canvas with glitter. The saying is a Brazilian idiom that translates to 'My Saint is Strong'—someone's always got my back. I love painting more than almost anything, I am most relaxed and happy when I'm creating a piece of art. My friend Winnie Beattie is going to stock a few of my pieces at her awesome Nolita store, Warm.

I think I've only worn this dress once, to the Emmys four years ago. It's the kind of dress that you can't wear much under! These shoes are older than the hills! They are so comfy, you could run for a bus in them. Love LA! I'm a huge fan of down and dirty Mexican food when I'm there, love El Compadre on Sunset. Otherwise I mostly eat and imbibe at Sunset Tower, which is where I stay. There is no place in that town cooler than the Tower Bar.

I'm obsessed with Anita Ko. I want everything, and I love the rings made by my friend Meredith Kahn of Made Her Think. Interesting, whimsical but always with an edge. Some of these pieces are very special to me: the diamond pinky ring was my Grandmother's 25th anniversary gift from my grandfather; the big Onyx number belonged to my Great Aunt Ella. I love Hermès cuffs and these bangles by Givenchy and Mulberry. My fave bangle is a raw diamond one I bought in India. I wish I had gotten an armful!

I used to always be a dark nail girl, but I've been loving an opaque nude! For manis and pedis, I love Jin Soon Choi's Natural Hand & Foot Spas, they're relaxing and clean, they have the BEST polish colors (CHANEL Vendetta! My all-time fave!) and they serve this super delish citrus tea. I've also just gotten into tenoverten, it's pretty convenient but still a little slice of chic. For Fall, I'm jonesing for blackened lapis and steel grey. Can't wait to wear 'em!

I bought these junk bangles on the Colaba Causeway in Mumbai. It was a dream of mine to go to India, the most amazing trip ever! Funny, I picked up these Trina Turk blingy sandals because they reminded me of shoes I saw in India and wished I had gotten. I'm a fan of hot weather. I love visiting Buzios, Brazil and try to get there every year. When I travel I always bring my favorite sunscreen, Skinceuticals tinted fluid and SunBum SPF 50 clear spray. Also I won't get on a plane without an SKII mask; it's the only way to look human when you arrive.

It shows the same woman in the same pose dressed and undressed. It's every woman's secret, just feels so real. Obviously I'm a fan of a nude heel! I usually wear these shoes with something simple and let the shoes speak for themselves! I went on VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live once wearing these and a black dress.
