Halloween, Coveteur Styles!

Happy Halloween! To celebrate our (arguably) favorite holiday of the year, we’ve scoured The Coveteur archives to dig up the skeletons in our closets…literally. We resurrected our fave skull-filled photos, but you may have to squint to find some of the skulls. Whether it’s detail on a McQueen clasp or classic Stubbs slippers, we’ve certainly seen our fair share of skeletons in our Coveteurs’ closets. From the pillows at Ben Watts and Jennifer Fisher’s abodes to the décor at Lauren Santo Domingo, Katie Nehra, Kate Ciepluch and Sara Riff’s, our Coveteurs have truly shown us their dark sides. And if you haven’t found a Halloween costume yet, we suggest you watch our #minicoveteurs video (and go as Anna Wintour or Uncle Karl).

This astrakan bag is one of my all-time most cherished pieces. It is from the Fall 2010 collection and was a gift from the designer himself, Peter Dundas. There are only four in the world, so I feel pretty fortunate to be one of the lucky few. This bag is me all over the place, my dream bag.

I went through this phase of wearing scarves tied around my head when I had long crazy hair and lived in California; my little cousin used to actually tell his classmates he had a pirate for a cousin! I became obsessed with these scarves when I lived down the block from Maxfield. They would literally get in a new style every other week and I would be there first thing to get the best choice of color. My favorite one has to be the red Kama Sutra one that is covered in cigarette holes.

The leather turban was a gift from my devastatingly brilliant friend, Jessica Kaplan, who died at the age of 24 in 2003. She was a huge classic movie buff, so I feel very Joan Crawford whenever I rock this. The monogrammed Kelly bag belonged to my grandmother, and namesake, Jeanne Price. My grandmother also died far too young, so it’s extremely special that you put these pieces together…it’s like a Día de los Muertos ofrenda! I just need to add their favorite cocktails and some marigolds!

It's all about nosebleed wedges this season, in this case, by Lanvin and Givenchy. Both of these shoes have a luxurious handmade quality and a toughness to them that is a perfect complement to a pretty dress. I love to be tall, and these are super high without being too prissy and ladylike. While I always get an "are you insane?" look when I say these are comfortable, they actually are—relatively—comfortable. The bronze skull sculptures are by LA-based artist Nathan Mabry. I'm loving the Gothic mix of the black skulls with the brutality of the slight S&M playfulness of the shoes.
