Jenné Lombardo

Jenne Lombardo

Founder of The Terminal Presents & Co-Founder MADE Fashion Week. New York

Jenné Lombardo's vibe is evident the moment she greets you at her Brooklyn apartment (conveniently around the corner from Momofuku's Milk Bar, where we may have made a pit stop). Welcoming us in while wearing a leather corset, striped trousers, and sky-high Louboutins, Lombardo immediately got down to business, assisting us with styling while taking a call on her cell. We expected nothing less from the industry powerhouse, whose style manifests itself inside her closet, filled with rare pieces from now-big-name labels' early days—including a straitjacket-like chainmail Proenza dress from their first season. (It probably weighs more than it costs; picture that.)
As the founder of MADE Fashion Week (formerly known as Milk) and consulting firm The Terminal Presents, Lombardo's worked with everyone from Lady Gaga to Terence Koh (she says she "won’t rest until I add Dolly Parton and Howard Johnson hotels to my roster!"). After getting her start at Interview Magazine, she moved to M.A.C Cosmetics, where she helped to instate the M.A.C + Milk program, which has given a platform to designers like Rodarte, Alexander Wang and the aforementioned Proenza Schouler. Did we mention Lombardo's since added 'Fashion Director'—at Playboy Magazine, no less—to her CV? Meet you at the mansion, Lombardo!
The ultimate mom-trepreneur has never lost her edge, with the names of her kids (Valentino, Roxy and Bowie) among her many tats. She also showed us her Hermès whip (it's for um, decoration?) and custom grills, done up at a spot recommended to her by the one and only Theophilus London. And while Lombardo often puts her hard edge on display, it's the dichotomy created by Lombardo's soft-side that really won us over: her obsession with sheer vintage lace dresses and her coded pager messages with boyfriend and fellow Cov Morgan Collett. Like we say, there's always more than meets the eye.

My favorite tattoo is a dagger with a snake wrapped around it on my forearm. I got it when I moved to N.Y.C. around eighteen or nineteen. I got it at before I linked up with Scott Campbell, who has done most of my work. Recently I have been going to Woo at Mark Mahoney's in L.A. I love the tiny rose he etched on me. Hoping someone can give me a stick and poke soon.

I get dressed with my eyes closed...at least that’s how my outfits can look. I hate to admit it, but to use an old Dolly Parton line, "It costs a lot to look this cheap."

These are fun. Not so fun when the heel catches your pant cuff and you go tumbling down… but well worth the bruises afterward.

The Rodarte sisters gave me this as a gift. I saw heaven when this piece went down the runway. Wish I could afford to wear more Rodarte, but sometimes it’s just fun to look at their clothes and dream.

I love designers. They are artists of clothes and interpreters of emotion. I feel lucky to work with and admire them all. I get to work with some of the most amazing people and brands from Lady Gaga to Playboy. I won’t rest until I add Dolly Parton and Howard Johnson hotels to my roster.

The pager was my birthday gift from my guy. He hits me up on the hip in the day with messages like “143” and “80085.” He's the only one with the number. Quite possibly the best gift a girl could ever receive.   My grill I got at Fulton Street Mall. Theophilus London hooked me up with his spot there. It was supposed to have diamonds in it, but they "forgot". I have to take it back to get iced.   I pretty much have the best boyfriend in the world. He's probably too busy to see this though—you know between running the Saturdays empire and buying me gifts.

Only memorable moment from wearing this is trying to take this off to go to the bathroom. Harder than a straitjacket to get out of.

I like furniture—and pretty much anything—from the 60s and 70s. I haven’t put much thought, time or money into this apartment yet. I'm kind of dragging my feet a bit. But I like for classic, handsome, whimsical flea market finds to co-exist.

The skateboard was a gift from Neville Wakefield. Very rare cool Richard Prince/Supreme shit. It’s my most treasured item. The whip was a gift from my friends at Rochambeau. Only Hermès can make a whip look high-brow. It’s actually for horses...I like how they look together.

My style is inconsistent, accidental and a little street, maybe. I am trying to establish principals when it come to fashion and go for a more polished look, but it is proving to be a little unnatural for me.
