This is from my friend Keni Valenti’s showroom (best vintage selection EVER!). An ex-lover and I got in an argument over who he was going to give it to. I think you can see who won! And this is such an important piece for many reasons: 1) it was one of the first times that someone took a fairytale figure and completely debased it. Now, we see it all the time, but this shirt is from the '70s; 2) it’s in the form a straight jacket. This jacket is one of my most favorite things. I got this jacket from the Resurrection auction in London, but I purchased it over the phone from The Mercer Hotel. Everything good happens there…truly! This belonged to Bridget Bardot and she wore it at Cannes. It is truly tough chic. I love anything gun metal. The sewing and construction that went into it is truly spectacular.
