Lesley Arfin has been on our radar for a while. We’ve read all her Vice columns (and the stuff she wrote for Nylon, Jalouse, and Russh), we’ve read and re-read her book, Dear Diary, and we’ve watched her "Style Like U" video too many times to count (and can quote it word for word). The fact that she’s a writer for our favourite show, GIRLS, is really just icing on the cake. Arfin describes her style as “thematic classic” and likes to redefine classic in regards to her mood. “If I feel like dressing like Kreayshawn, I’ll go for Jeremy Scott Reeboks, but sometimes I’m in a sophisticated mood and that means a vintage caftan and something cashmere.” Maybe Hannah Hovarth and Ms. Arfin have more in common than we suspected.
I never re-read Dear Diary. Sometimes I’ll open up to a page, glance at a paragraph, and cringe.

Hair products: Sumo wax by bumble & bumble for the tips, and Kiehl's leave-in conditioner. Skincare is all Mario Badescu everything. That’s all, that’s it, forevermore.

I have two computers because I’m fancy. My last laptop got stolen right off this very desk (my house got broken into) so I had to buy a new one. The framed photo is Lenny Bruce giving the finger. The poster with the green squiggles is by artist Tara Sinn. The Rolling Stones lips is something I needlepointed. The sweater reminds me of Little Orphan Annie.
