Logan Horne

Logan Horne

Stylist.  New York

From a small beach town in North Florida working in a flower nursery to eventually becoming the sartorial voice behind some of today’s most glamorous ladies, Logan Horne’s closet was definitely a jaw dropping experience for us. While he may be responsible for making sure Leighton Meester, Jessica Stam, and Karolina Kurkova look on-point at all times, any dude looking for a free style tip should look no further than this bi-coastal stylists East Coast’s abode. For Horne, it’s all about the accessories, from his Goyard hand-painted briefcase to his black and white Chanel Rugby ball (naturally a necessity for any fashion-conscious guy); his anecdotes are complimented gracefully with his array of Balmain tops and tees. But good taste, while innate, definitely doesn’t land you at the top of your game instantly, and for Horne, he mastered his craft from a young age. He worked at the old Miu Miu store on Melrose when he was 18 and eventually went on to assist Kelly Cutrone and Tara Subkoff (not to mention working in house for Nina Ricci while Olivier Theyskens was still the creative director), but it was then that he offered some assistance to his good friend Ms. Meester. It was soon evident that everyone was taking notice of Leighton’s style. She’s been on countless best dressed lists and continues to inspire The Coveteur, so when we were able to spend a day with the guy who ensures she looks red carpet ready, we naturally picked up a few tips of our own. From his closet to yours, Mr. Logan Horne ladies and gentlemen...

I got this dopp kit from the store in Bal Harbour (best mall ever). He did a similar version in a women’s clutch that I was obsessed with, so when I saw this I had to have it. The towels make me smile.

This astrakan bag is one of my all-time most cherished pieces. It is from the Fall 2010 collection and was a gift from the designer himself, Peter Dundas. There are only four in the world, so I feel pretty fortunate to be one of the lucky few. This bag is me all over the place, my dream bag.

I believe this was one of my first big purchases I ever made on my own. I was so young at the time, and it took me months to save up the money to get it...but I was determined to make it mine. This bag has seen the world and had to be relined several times from travel abuse.

The crystal anchor necklace was a gift for my 21st birthday from a friend. Anyone who knows me knows my obsession with anything nautical. One of my best friends customized this T-shirt for me with the denim monogram patch from a stack of scrap fabric she had from a shoot.

This boot was truly meant to be in my wardrobe. I got it at the Barney’s warehouse sale on the very last day during the last five minutes of the sale. How no one snatched this baby up before me still blows my mind.

I saw these boots on oki-ni’s website and fell in love. They sold out immediately so I contacted the site and they were kind enough to have another pair made for me. I call them my Frankenstein boots. The laptop case I said was the only possible thing I could ever own from the company, until I found out they were launching a men’s line.

I went through this phase of wearing scarves tied around my head when I had long crazy hair and lived in California; my little cousin used to actually tell his classmates he had a pirate for a cousin! I became obsessed with these scarves when I lived down the block from Maxfield. They would literally get in a new style every other week and I would be there first thing to get the best choice of color. My favorite one has to be the red Kama Sutra one that is covered in cigarette holes.

Dana Lorenz is a great pal and I always love to pop into her studio and shake things up from time to time. On one of these humorous occasions I came across this studded ashtray and nearly did a back flip. It is a prototype and I don’t believe was ever put into production. The monogramouflage mouse pad came in limited copies of Numéro Tokyo when they launched the collection.

With my last name being Horne, my family and myself have always had an affinity to all things Hermès...it kind of gives me an excuse to have the letter 'H' everywhere without appearing too pretentious. I haven’t played with these yet but they are so huge they will definitely come in handy when my eyes go.

I found this on a trip to Paris for the shows. I was running down Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré when this literally stopped me in my tracks. I wish I would have gotten more of this man’s work. I had it framed and it is now the first thing you see upon entering my room. It pretty much says it all

I love all the different fabrications and texture that are comprised on one shoe. They almost have a recycled feeling. I got the suitcase from the Brooklyn Museum when they hosted a Murakami retrospective and actually set up a miniature boutique within the museum. It was too good to be true. I wound up with this.

I have had this belt since high school. It was a gift from the sales rep back when I used to be an assistant buyer for a clothing store in my hometown. I keep it around as proof that studs are not a trend, and that they have been, and will be cool for decades.
