We're going to get all early-2000s girl from the Midwest who's watched a little too much Sex and the City on you for a second: sometimes nameplate necklaces really do say it all. While we swear up and down that they're not only totally coming back, they can, in the right context and provided that you're actually cool enough to pull one off, speak volumes. Case in point? Lysa Cooper's #IKnowEverybody necklace, which is very possibly the most appropriate nameplate for a stylist who's kicked it with everyone from Rihanna to Beyoncé to Keith Haring (she has an original in her kitchen the late artist signed as a birthday present).
When Cooper ushered us into her Soho apartment, tiny dog at her feet, she was both intimidatingly cool and completely warm and welcoming. After giving us a quick tour around her pad, where she's lived since the '90s, it was totally business as usual as Cooper jumped right back on the phone with her agent, leaving us to get way deep in her wardrobe. As you'd expect from the woman who pulled an Eres piece from the '90s for the “Drunk in Love” video (yes, that was all her), we found heaps of archival pieces from the '70s on, not to mention piles of Dries Van Noten, Chloé and Charlotte Olympia for good measure. Oh, and did we mention that we only got a peek at half of the motherlode, as Cooper was in the midst of making a move out to Topanga Canyon for the summer? And yes, in case you're wondering, she locks everything up to keep her goodies safe from renters—not that we exactly blame her.
As we balanced doing our thing with attempting to keep said pup off of Cooper's priceless, well, everything (including her totally gorgeous pony hair Burberry trench) and trying on her @badgalriri-style nail rings, Cooper chatted with us about everything from our photog, Jake's upcoming trip to Ibiza (she wanted to tag along and gave him the full breakdown of the best of what to see and do) to anecdotes from the sets of XO,'Yonce, Jealous and Blow (for emphasis: N-B-effing-D). As far as the Us Weekly-worthy goss Cooper's become, well, familiar for espousing (give her a Google and get back to us)? Lets just say some things stay on set, guys.
