Natasha Koifman

Natasha Koifman, President, NKPR.  Toronto

Natasha Koifman is the PR empress behind the NKPR empire—and aside from her expertise in public relations, this girl knows a thing or two about shoes and Chanel. And, she’s got a glam good (and may we add, impressive!) collection to show for it. Her Double C archives (that’s Chanel for all you non-devotees) had us reminiscing of Saturday night’s at home watching “The Devil Wears Prada” on the W Network—I mean, she’s even got the Anne Hathaway pearls and newsboy cap to boot! Her au courant closet could not have been more on point with what we have been witnessing on the runways… and the thread continued throughout her oh-so-chic home. Although we do love ourselves a trinket-filled abode, it was Koifman’s minimalism that left us begging her for an invite back. And with all our friends there—Charlotte Olympia, Pierre Hardy, Karl, Alber—we felt right at home! Clad in her signature all-black, leather-infused uniform of names, names, names, she welcomed us in with open arms, cupcakes and wine. (Take note, Coveteur wannabees!) Although it was all fun and games, Koifman is a businesswoman in every sense of the word. We can’t tell you how much we admire this chick’s drive and goal to expand and conquer. She’s known for forging long-standing relationships between the public and not-for-profit sector, which she does with ease (and in six-inch stilettos, nonetheless!) Since the inception of her namesake full-service agency in 2002, NK’s lent her skills and strategy to the development and execution of initiatives for brands such as Ford Models and Kiehls, and in doing so, has situated herself as the go-to agency in T.O. Koifman is a real do-gooder, using her knowledge to combine two of her passions: “Shining a spotlight on stories of substance and supporting causes that are making a difference around the world.” And we think the world would be a lot more glam if there were more Natasha Koifman’s in it.

This is the most amazing heel. Not too thick, not too thin, but just right. Pierre's shoes are so artistic and geometric, I love that I can accent my monochromatic wardrobe with hints of his creativity. David Drebin is one of my favorite artists and his book perfectly compliments the shoes.

This dress is the colourful exception to my exclusively black wardrobe. I was going through a major South Asian phase when I fell in love with this piece. The detailed sequin work is so exquisite, and of course the pockets did me in…every dress should have pockets! I loved the shoes so much I bought them in two colours.

I love everything Mario Testino. All of his images are incredible. This book is super special to me since it is signed by the man himself, and is part of a limited print of only a thousand books. I especially love the cover with Ashton and Demi. No one pushes boundaries and challenges social norms like Testino.

I think Alber Elbaz truly gets how women want to feel. He continually creates wearable, feminine, and super-luxe pieces. I bought this snow globe on a trip to Paris. There is something nostalgic about it that makes me feel happy.

These shoes are gorgeous and comfortable, a winning combination in my books. My overly ambitious shoe choice for an afternoon stroll in Soho proved too painful. When I spotted these clogs I knew I needed a rescue. I wore them out of the store and didn’t take them off all weekend.

I love these shoes! I’ve been obsessed with skulls all year. When I saw them at Harvey Nichols in London, I had to have them. This necklace is super contemporary, but maintains its traditional Indian feel. I like to accessorize with a pop of color, and this one definitely does the trick.

I cannot live without fresh flowers. I have them in my house always. It’s fitting that this shoe is perched atop a bouquet of rouge, since I love to wear these shoes when my team at NKPR and I are managing red carpet events.

I adore this shot. The Kelly bag is very delicate and feminine, I always feel very girly when I wear it.

I bought this clock at L’Atelier in Toronto because Bond Street is one of my favorite places in London. Seeing this piece really makes me smile. The bag is the perfect accessory for the Toronto International Film Festival. I pull it out each year to store my festival essentials.

The nude sandals I bought on a trip to Chicago. I love that the nude tone makes the shoe look like an extension of my leg. I mean, we could all use an extra six inches of leg, no? I scouted the black air on NET-A-PORTER and it was love at first click. Nothing more covetable than velvet and Lucite.

Karl can do no wrong. The black on white contrast on the Minotti makes this look all the more chic.

These shoes almost blend right into my white lacquer fireplace. The white is so stark and clean, which I love contrasting against a black mini dress.

Dries's Fall 2010 collection came down the runways on the most amazing heel. The shape feels very old-world Baroque. I was in love! I have four pairs with the same heel.

I think my first and forever love will always be a fabulous shoe. There is nothing more elegant and sexy than the way a great heel elongates the leg. Unlike the rest of my wardrobe, my shoes will never remind me of how much ice cream I ate the night before. After all, your feet don’t get fat!

To me, this Pimentel image essentially represents my life. There is so much energy and excitement in the PR business, which is perfectly captured here. It’s very appropriate that my Birkin was placed next to this photo, since I pretty much carry my life around in this bag.

There was something about the wooden heel that really resonated with me that season. Pairing the dual-toned heel with animal print just felt very rustic and wild. I love the mules against this Roberto Dutesco, which I got from his gallery in New York City. I bought the piece after I became obsessed with his documentary Chasing Wild Horses about his fifteen-year long journey capturing images of the wild horses of Sable Island.

Leather, leather and more leather makes up 1/3 of my wardrobe. Rick Owens, Céline, The Row…I cannot get enough of it. I was so excited when I bought this skirt two sizes smaller than I usually wear. Leather can make miracles happen.
