Scott Lipps

President, One Management. New York

Scott Lipps is a real jack of all trades: he’s a little bit fashion and a little bit rock & roll. By day, he’s the founder and president of top modeling agency One Management, and by night he’s the hard-hitting drummer for the Courtney Love-fronted band, Hole. The decade old agency represents some of the biggest names in fashion: Iman, Claudia Schiffer, Bar Refaeli, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigová.
You may have seen Mr. Lipps running around N.Y.C. in his signature Golden Goose kicks, vintage tee, leather jacket and Ricoh camera in hand. He’s always on the move shooting pictures for his blog POPLIPPS, which offers an intimate look at his daily life. In the 90’s, Lipps was the band Black Cherry and was all about tattoos, motorcycles and all black everything. Even after moving on from the band (and cutting his mane), music continues to be a major part of Lipps’ life.
You can take the boy out of metal, but you can’t take the metal out of the boy! Lipps welcomed us into his home, turned up the tunes with an addictive playlist, and started digging up treasured vintage tees. His home is filled with mementos from the Iggy Pop days, photographs by legendary photog, Mick Rock and even a drum set. When he’s not stuck at his Mac sending emails for One Management, you can find him banging away on his beloved drum set. Music to our ears!

I have collected concert t-shirts for years now. I love Iggy Pop. This is one of my favorite shirts and I always get comments on it. Not sure what era or tour it’s from. Either way, it’s very cool looking. The art was picked out by Edward Jowdy, who helped design my place.

I think the stuffed animal is from a past relationship as I don’t collect them myself. But yes, it’s also a tribute to my fellow Canadian Coveteurs.

The Rolling Stones box set was given to me by a supermodel for Christmas. She knows how much I love music. The Lou Reed t-shirt was given to me by Mick Rock, whose work you see on the walls. The Iggy Pop shirt is also from Mick Rock and the Wild Cherry shirt is vintage from a thrift store in L.A.

The i-D coffee table book was a gift from a model and the CD’s are a relic from the past. The camera is a Ricoh, which I use for taking pictures for my blog. I am sure you can see me out and about wielding this camera around.

This is the band I was in in the early 90’s called Black Cherry. The singer was from a band called L.A. Guns, which was one of the two bands that eventually became Guns N’ Roses. It probably took me a good 30 minutes to get ready in the morning with all that hair. I’m the second from right in the picture. Our fashion then was tattoos, motorcycles and anything black, including the bracelets. There was a store called ‘Let it Rock’ on Melrose Avenue in L.A. and that’s where a lot of this stuff came from.

Yes, this is my view that I wake up to everyday. This is the typical MTV Cribs shot of “where all the magic happens.” I have to be honest, I love a fluffy pillow.
