Shira Suveyke

Vice President of Global Buying, THE OUTNET.COM. New York

We recently dropped by Shira Suveyke's (oh, you know, the global buyer behind THEOUTNET.COM) sick pad to meet the girl partly responsible for our online shopping addiction. Suveyke's home is located in the heart of N.Y.C., and boasts a pretty great view opposite the Gansevoort. (Let’s say it altogether now: “The Kardashians are here!”)

We couldn't be more awed by the girl's natural beauty, which was enhanced ever so slightly by the talented, Joe Hubrich (Erika Bearman and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff also swears by him, so you know he's legit!). We had to get the inside scoop on how to steal her signature glow: "Beauty products are the simple approach to refreshing your seasonal look," she told us. "[I use] Armani foundation for a natural, dewy look, By Terry Blush in Beach Bomb to keep me looking awake through all my travels and Oribe Après Breach Shine spray to keep my blowout looking fresh.”

We were floored by Suveyke's assortment in her wardrobe. Plus, we love the girl's ability to rotate out-of-season pieces to make them still feel fresh and exciting. It’s what we at The Coveteur HQ like to call, “shopping in your own closet.”

"My most special pieces are those from my grandmother," Suveyke said. "[She was] a woman who always exuded style. When I wear her jewelry I hope to channel just a fraction of her elegance."

And Suveyke has a serious eye for elegance when it comes to her décor, too. She takes the classic mixing old with new thing to a whole other level by combining antiques found online – we were particularly fond of her vert-de-gris bench she had reupholstered; pro-trick! – with pieces from John Derian in the East Village or ABC Home in Flat Iron District. Did you see her collection of vintage Vogue covers? It all started with an inspiration trip to the Met exhibit.

I have a weakness for antique and vintage jewelry because every piece has a unique story. I have collected many of my investment pieces over the years at antique stores in New York, L.A., and London. My most special pieces are those from my grandmother, a woman who always exuded style. When I wear her jewelry I hope to channel just a fraction of her elegance.

I first caught a glimpse of these maps at John Derian in the East Village, and a year later they showed up at a vintage store on La Cienaga. I knew it was fate and bought them immediately!

Beauty products are the simple approach to refreshing your seasonal look. I generally use shades of red lipstick, but this spring I'll choose a shade of apricot for a brighter pop of color. Products are essential to maintaining a polished appearance. Some of my personal favorites include Armani foundation for a natural, dewy look; By Terry blush in Beach Bomb to keep me looking awake through all my travels; and Oribe Après Beach Shine spray to keep my blowout looking fresh.

The skirt and the shoes are both from THEOUTNET.COM. There is nothing more satisfying then a well-made gimlet—preferably at a hotel bar. My current favorite is the Library Bar at NoMad.

The dress and shoes are both from THEOUTNET.COM. The best part of my job is working with such a talented team. As the vice president of global buying, I am fortunate to work with brands and vendors around the world. Regarding the best advice I ever received, it varies with each role I have had throughout my career. I have been lucky to work with some of the industry’s most well-renowned leaders. If I had to sum it all up, I would say be passionate and curious in everything you do!

I have a hybrid style that reflects both work and play. I pair refined pieces such as a structured dress or a tailored blazer with something lux casual such as weathered jeans or leather jacket.

My watch is a 1960s Gold Rolex; no date, silver satin face and dauphine hands. I spent years in search of this model and finally found it at a specialty watch store on Melrose Place.

Similar to your wardrobe, it takes years to build out the right assortment of furniture, fabrics, rugs and art to create the perfect living space. I take the approach of mixing old with new: for instance, I purchased this vert-de-gris bench from an online antique dealer, and then had it re-upholstered to update the look. Working in a global business keeps a variety of cultures and markets on my radar, I am constantly inspired throughout my travels—but also find plenty of inspiration here in New York City. A magazine art exhibition at the Met influenced me to begin collecting archived Vogue covers dating from 1917-1945. Other favorite shops include John Derian in the East Village or ABC Home in Flat Iron District. I could get lost for hours shopping the home stores on La Cienega in Los Angeles.
